LaMar Avery
(January 6, 1935 - June 8, 2014)

West Jordan, Utah - Our kind and beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Reese LaMar Avery, age 79, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014 in Centerfield, Utah. He was born January 6, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of Neal C. and Glennie Drakeford Avery.

He attended Granite High School. LaMar married Bonnie Jean Adamson, December 6, 1952 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died March 16, 1976. He married Donna Lange Krein in November of 1976 in West Jordan. She died May 4, 2008.

LaMar was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Scout Leader and various other callings that he enjoyed doing.

One of LaMar's greatest loves was working with horses, training them, riding them and driving the chariots in the cutter races. He held the position of Vice President of the World Cutter Racing Association for several years.

He enjoyed hunting, bowling, boating and traveling in his motor home.

His family, kids and grandkids were the light of his life.

LaMar is survived by his children: Patsy Brusseau of Jerome, Idaho; Vickie and Alan King of Fayette, Utah; Denis and Kayleen Avery of Gunnison, Utah; Doug and Sue Avery of Salt Lake City; Sherie and Ron Graham of Postfalls, Idaho; Chareese and Randy Youngdell of Rathdrum, Idaho; step-children: Theador W. Krein, Cheryl A. and Randy Wilkens, John Krein, all of Salt Lake City; Terri M. and Daniel Taylor of Tremonton, Utah; 35 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Doris and Bill Peterson of West Jordan; Lois Peterson of St. George; Wayne Avery, Joseph and Loa Avery, all of Salt Lake City.

He is preceded in death by his parents; both of his wives; a son-in-law; a great-granddaughter; four sisters and one brother.

The family would like to extend a special thank you and sincere appreciation to Dr. Wade Anderson and Community Living Center in Centerfield, and to the wonderful staff for their loving care of our dear Father.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Jordan Oaks 2nd and 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 3930 West 7875 South in West Jordan, Utah, where friends may call for viewing Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Whites Fort Cemetery, 9000 South and Bangerter Highway in West Jordan under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
