He was born in Advance Missouri, and raised in Flint, Michigan.

In 1959, Larry joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Oriskany.

After having an Honorable discharge from the Military, he made his home in the San Francisco bay area, later moving to Vallejo and finally to Napa.

He was married twice, first to Linda Stahl then to LaVerne Smith, he had four children.

Larry worked for Safeway as a Butcher, then became a truck driver, employed by Mc Cambridge Trucking Co out of Sonoma, and Burgundy Express out of Kent, Washington.

He enjoyed boating, fishing, and exploring old Civil War battlefields.

Larry is survived by his wife LaVerne of Napa; children, Lisa Millstead of Napa, Louise Scott of Connecticut and Michael (Sarah) Millstead of Vacaville; step sons, Gerard and Frank Anger of Napa; 11 Grandchildren, Michael Singer; Jacob, Jolene & Jase Millstead; Peter, Mikel & Victoria Duffy; Megan, Reina, Tiffany & Melissa Scott; 5 great grandchildren, Gerald, Justyce, Austin, Kaylee & Keisea; sisters, Carole Lane of Idaho, Sue Collins of Missouri, and Peggy Brown of Michigan; sister-in-law Alice Millstead of Michigan; brothers, Steven and Vernon Millstead of Missouri, Robert (Tammi) Millstead of North Dakota, Daniel (Sue) Millstead of Minnesota, Thomas (Sierra) Millstead of Michigan, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Laura Duffy; sister, Paulette Millstead; brothers David Millstead, Ernie Millstead , Henry Millstead and Butch Bearup.

Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2014, starting at 3:00PM, followed by a Rosary service at 6:00PM, both at Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main St, Napa. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 6404 Washington St., Yountville with burial to follow at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Rd, Napa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kolbe Academy & Trinity Prep, 2055 Redwood Road, Napa, CA 94558.
