Philip J. Michaud, 74, of Terryville, husband of Nancy (Beaulieu) Michaud, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Bristol Hospital. Philip was born in Fort Kent, ME on October 5, 1939 and was a son of the late Eddie and Clara (Leferriere) Michaud. Philip was a former resident of Bristol and Southington prior to Terryville. Mr. Michaud is a United States Marine Corps. Veteran, proudly serving his Country during the Cuban Crisis. He retired from Topper and Griggs, Plainville and was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol. Philip was an avid coin collector, loved making puzzles and he enjoyed a good game of cards with family and friend. He had a great sense of humor and was quite the jokester. He was a proud Frenchman and was good at tinkering with anything he could get his hands on. Besides his wife, Philip is survived by four step-daughters: Karen Pelletier, of New Britain, Donna Duffy and her husband Paul and Judy Zipp and her husband Joe, all of Bristol and Lucie Kempton and her husband Jeff, of PA; his three sisters and a brother-in-law: Norma and Reynold Pelletier, Kathleen Blair and Gilda Michaud; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Joe G. and Ghislaine Beaulieu, Willard Voisine, Toni Voisine, Wilmer and Sylvia Pelletier, Pauline Saucier and Eddie and Angie Boucher; six grandchildren: Jennifer and Matthew Moran, Kevin Rappleyea, Kaitlynn Zipp, Emily and Brian Kempton; a great granddaughter: Kaelyn Spooner and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Norman Michaud. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 24, 2014 10:30 AM at St. Ann Church, Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Monday, between 8:30 and 10:00 AM.
