Helen E. Albers, 96 years, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Nye Legacy in Fremont, Nebraska. Helen was born April 11, 1918 in Wahoo, Nebraska to Charles and Anna (Dockweiler) Croshaw. She was raised in Wahoo and graduated from high school in Wahoo in 1936. Soon after graduation she moved to Fremont where she met her future husband.

Helen was married to William “Bill” Albers on September 9, 1937 at Papillion, Nebraska. They spent the remainder of their lives in Fremont. He preceded her in death in June of 1989. Helen was a devoted wife and mother. She held many jobs throughout her life, including Petro’s Café, J. C. Penney’s, Sears, and Earl May Garden Center.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fremont, she was active in PTA, served as a Cub Scout leader, Red Cross volunteer, Fremont Blood Mobile volunteer and a volunteer at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

She is survived by sons, Stephen Albers of Payson, Arizona and Brad Albers of Cathedral City, California; grandchildren, Chad W. Albers and Stefanie A. Albers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; all of her siblings.

Funeral service is 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Jon Ashley of the Presbyterian Church will officiate. Visitation 1 hour before the service. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
