Manuel A. Moreno

Manuel A. Moreno, 70, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on June 1, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.

He was born on April 14, 1944 in Santa Ana, California, the son of the late Guadelupe Chitica and Maria Guadelupe Alcaraz.

Mr. Moreno attended schools in Santa Ana, California.

He married the former Dolores Pat Underwood in Rock Springs, Wyoming on July 22, 1982.

He was employed at F. M.C. and also at Jim Bridger as a boilermaker for many years and retired in 2000.

He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and beadwork.

Survivors include his wife Dolores Pat Moreno of Reliance, Wyoming; two sons Earl J. Merritt and wife Autumn Chenoweth of Reliance, Wyoming and Manuel J. Moreno and wife Brittney of Rawlins, Wyoming; four daughters Elisa Rangel and husband Joe of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Senorina Morino and husband Filiberto Benitez of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Norma Maldanado of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Laura Johnson of Houston, Texas; one brother Anthony Chitica and wife Lisa of Green River, Wyoming; four sisters Orelia Martinez, Evelyn Sanchez and husband Leonel, Frances Sanchez, and Josephine Amicay and husband Angel all of Santa Ana, California; other family Everardo Benitez and Victor Campos both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; eleven grandchildren Joseph Rangle, Alexzandra Rangel, Cidney Scott, Sage Merritt, Filiberto Benitez Jr., Bella Vianca Benitez, Story Chaiton, Myka Maldonado, Logan Johnson, Cameron Johnson, and Dakota Chenoweth; two great grandchildren Joseph Rangel and Elijah Rangel; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Albert Moreno, Rodolfo Moreno and Victor Moreno; one sister Angie Moreno-Velazqles; one grandson Chance Merritt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Avenue, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call at the church, one hour prior to services.
